SkyMed present at the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress in Dominican Republic

> The path to a comprehensive digital transformation.

SkyMed was a sponsor of the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress. This event was attended by more than 300 participants from all over the region.

On September 6 and 7, healthcare organizations from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, the United States and the Dominican Republic gathered in Santo Domingo to attend the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress, which seeks to shape the strategic vision of digital health in the region.

The Congress counted with the contribution of 35 experts who delved into health management issues in a comprehensive manner. They addressed topics such as:

  • Trends in the post-pandemic digital world,
  • The impact of Covid-19 on acceleration in digital health,
  • Health data governance,
  • Cybersecurity in healthcare,
  • Patient experience and technological contribution
  • Where to start the digital transformation,
  • Learning about digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean,
  • The result of the first analysis on digital health in the Dominican Republic,
  • The vision for the future of the digital health ecosystem and
  • The training of health professionals in the digital era.

SkyMed had an active participation, represented by its Regional Director of Health and Business Processes for the North America Zone, Mr. Esteban Alvarez. He was in charge of the patient experience and technological contribution panel and gave a lecture focused on the following topic:

Technology allows for a more personalized health management, in addition to influencing the approach to patients based on four axes:

  • Increase contact channels by improving the omni experience.
  • Manage by KPI's. What cannot be measured cannot be controlled.
  • Giving value to data. To know our patients and behavior in order to build agendas adapted to the demand.
  • To know the idle capacities that can be monetized.

Our representative, Mr. Esteban Alvarez, emphasized that the incorporation of technology is not enough; it is necessary to provide it with robust operational processes. In addition, it is essential to put the patient at the center, providing an empirically measurable quality of experience.

At SkyMed we are firmly convinced that the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress has been the precursor of new healthcare management models for the region, focused on the patient and on the standardization of operational processes with digital technology biases, in addition to being framed in a data-driven management.
